Women's tennis drops heartbreaker to Cabrini

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 setback to Cabrini University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

Berks won two of the doubles bouts to jump out to an early 2-1 lead. Bel Clayton and Ashvini Subasinghe rallied for an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Katie Davis and Nivia McNeil were 8-1 winners at the third spot. Sam Hagenbush and Kayla Zelonka battled in the second flight, but were topped 8-2.

Clayton picked up a 6-1, 6-3 at the top singles spot and McNeil was a 6-0, 6-1 winner in the No. 6 match.

The Nittany Lions will return to action with some non-conference matches in March and will get into United East play in April.
