WBB falls to Abington in semester opener

READING, PA - Playing for the first time this semester, the Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped an 100-33 decision to Penn State Abington in an United East Conference contest on Friday night.

Kayla Zelonka connected on three 3-pointers en route to 11 points to go along with seven rebounds and one steal in 38 minutes of action. Katie Davis matched Zelonka with 11 points, while also recording two boards, one assist and one blocked shot. Sam Hagenbush had seven points and four rebounds. Maddie Motze recorded a team-high eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals, Marissa Pyatt had three points and three boards.

Lacy MacLachlin led Abington with 30 points, followed by Angela Sanders with 17 and Cassie Tavormina with 14.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Lancaster Bible College for a conference contest on Saturday, January 15 at 3 p.m.
