Women's tennis falls to LBC in season opener

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team dropped its season opener, 7-2, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest with Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday afternoon at the Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions, playing in their first contest since October 4, 2019, fell behind 2-1 during doubles action. The No. 3 duo of Madison Hetrick and Lesley Casanas were 8-5 winners. The top duo of Blair Eckel and Morgan Reightneou fell by a score of 8-3.

In singles action, Hetrick finished off her perfect day with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph out of the sixth spot. Meredith Hill battled hard at No. 3 singles, but suffered a 7-6, 6-4 setback at the No. 3 flight.

Berks will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC contest on Tuesday, April 13 at 1 p.m.
