Women's tennis edged by Penn College

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 setback to Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

Blair Eckel and Morgan Reightneour picked up an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 doubles match. Lesley Casana and Brianna McMonagle topped their opponents 7-2 in the tiebreaker for a thrilling 8-7 victory at the third spot to give Berks a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

Eckel continued her fine day with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 1 singles, while Reightneour remained perfect on the day with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the second flight. The Wildcats won the final four singles bouts to gain the winning margin.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Penn State Abington for a NEAC contest on Monday, April 19 at 2 p.m.
