Men's tennis topped by Cabrini in season opener

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team dropped its 2019-20 season opener, 6-3, to Cabrini University in a non-conference match on Monday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions fall to 0-1 on the season, while the Cavaliers are now 1-0 overall.

The No. 1 team of Diego Olazagasti and Curtis Uhle helped Berks avoid being swept in the doubles portion of the contest. Olazagasti and Uhle made a dramatic comeback that was capped off by a 7-5 win the tiebreak to win the set by a score of 8-7.

In singles action, Olazagasti made another comeback that was won 8-7 (7-5) over CJ LaMantia in a pro-set at No. 1. Freshman COLLIN HALL claimed the Nittany Lions other point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory out of the sixth flight.

The Nittany Lions return to action with a match at DeSales University on Friday, October 4 at 3:30 p.m.
