Women's tennis downs CSE, 7-2

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team defeated the College of Saint Elizabeth, 7-2, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions improve to 4-8 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Eagles drop to 0-6 on the season and 0-4 in the NEAC.

Berks swept the doubles bouts to jump out to an early 3-0 advantage. The No. 1 duo of Alyssa Miller and Lexi Vidal won their match 8-2, while Deismy Jimenez and Nicole Meek were 8-0 winners at the second spot. The No. 3 tandem of Tessa Caltagirone and Alexa Lopez prevailed 8-6 over Orezia Logus and Sarai Santiago.

In singles play, Vidal picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 2 flight, while Jimenez was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at three. Meek (No. 4) won 6-0, 6-0, while Caltagirone (No. 5) was a a 6-1, 6-0 winner.
