Women's tennis blanked by Alvernia

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Alvernia University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon at the Gring's Mills Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions drop to 0-2 on the season, while the Wolves improve to 4-1 overall.

Erin Maloney and Nicole Meek fought at the No. 1 doubles spot, but were edged 8-4 by Alvernia's top duo of Ariana Chuprinsky and Laura Covely.

In singles play, Meek fell by scores of 6-1, 6-4 to Covely at the No. 2 spot.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a trip to DeSales University on Friday, October 4 at 3:30 p.m.
