Men's basketball drops home NEAC tilt with Wilson

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team fell to Wilson College, 81-62, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest on Wednesday night at the Beaver Community Center.

The Nittany Lions trailed by nine points in the waning seconds of the first half, but five straight points by Matt Seip pulled Berks within four (39-35) heading into the intermission. Seip opened up the second half with a jumper make it a two point deficit, but the Phoenix rattled off 10 unanswered points and 19-4 run to go ahead 58-41. Wilson then held onto its double digit lead to close out the game.

Seip led all scorers with his career-high 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor. The junior forward also brought down a team-best eight rebounds to go along with two blocked shots and two steals. Robbie McHugh came off the bench to add 10 points and six boards, while Micah Krauter chipped in six points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. Nelson Hine and Brian Contaldi also had six points with Hine handing out a team-high five assists.

Keion Adams paced the Phoenix offense with 22 points to go with eight boards and two assists. Zachary Powell notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Ian Frazier had 16 points and eight assists.

The Nittany Lions will host a pair of NEAC Crossover games against opponents from the North Division. They will face Morrisville State College on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by SUNY Poly on Sunday at noon.
