MARCY, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team fell in the 2016-17 season finale, 112-62, to SUNY Polytechnic in a Saturday afternoon's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest.

The Nittany Lions finish the season with an overall record of 6-16 and went 6-14 in the conference, while SUNY Poly improves to 23-2 on the year and 17-1 in the NEAC.

Deanna Daddona led the Nittany Lions with 19 points to raise her season total to 486, which ranks as the third most in program history and her 22.2 points per average is the most in a single-season. After just two seasons, the sophomore guard already has the fifth most career points at Berks with 918, while her scoring average of 20.4 points per game ranks first all-time. Daddona also ranks as the career leader in program-history for 3-pointers made (124) and free throw percentage (77.7%). She is among the top-10 career leaders in field goals made (260), 3-point percentage (31.3%), free throws made (255), assists (130), and steals (107).

Elise Paskowski finished the contest one point shy of her personal best with 13 points and had seven rebounds, while Britt Weiss added seven points and team-high 10 boards. Sam Huggins chipped in seven points, followed by Mackenzie Huber with six and Sam Brensinger with five. Bre Schmidt drained a 3-pointer and grabbed three rebounds, while Whitney Allen matched a career-high with eight rebounds.

Huggins finished the year with 258 rebounds, which ranks the fifth most in a single-season and already puts her at 10th among the career leaders. Brensinger concluded the season with 91 assists, which is the fifth highest recorded in a season in program history.

The Nittany Lions will look to continue their improvement into the 2017-18 season after reaching the highest win total since the 2012-13 season and sporting a roster in which ever student-athlete is capable of returning for next season.
