Men's tennis wins third straight

IMMACULATA, PA - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team won its third straight contest after downing Immaculata University, 9-0, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (5-5) took control of the contest after quickly sweeping the doubles action. Drew Weinhold and Will Byler paired up for an 8-0 victory at the top doubles spot, while Angel Negron and Nick Volk won by the same score at third doubles. Jerrad Seifrit and Ryan Fritz closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win out of the second flight.

Weinhold (No. 1) and Fritz (No. 3) won by scores of 6-0, 6-0 in their singles matches, while Negron (No. 4) and Volk (No. 5) were both 6-1, 6-0 winners. Byler won his match at second singles by a score of 6-2, 6-2 and Owen Jones finished his No. 6 singles match 6-3, 6-0.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Lancaster Bible College for a conference match on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m.
