Men's tennis sweeps Penn College in conference opener

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team opened up its conference schedule with a 9-0 sweep over visiting Penn College on Saturday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

Drew Weinhold and Will Byler had the tightest match at No. 1 doubles with an 8-4 victory. Ryan Fritz and Jerrad Seifrit earned an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles, while Angel Negron and Nick Volk paired up for an 8-2 win out of the third flight.

Weinhold grabbed a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, while Byler was a 6-0, 6-2 winner out of the second spot and Fritz (No. 3) won his singles bout 6-1, 6-0. Negron (No. 4), Volk (No. 5), and Dylan Deleon (No. 6) were all 6-0, 6-0 winners in their singles matches.

The Nittany Lions will take on Immaculata University in a non-conference contest on Wednesday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
