Women's volleyball ready to compete at NEAC Postseason on Friday

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team will look to avenge one of its conference losses from the regular season when they take on Wells College one of three North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Quarterfinal contests host by top seed SUNY Polytechnic on Friday evening.

The Nittany Lions (20-10, 10-3 NEAC) picked up a huge win over Gallaudet University and swept the final weekend of conference play to finish as the No. 4 team in the standings, while the Express (18-10, 9-4) dropped two of its final three NEAC contests to finish fifth in the conference standings.

Wells has won three of the last four meetings with the Nittany Lions, including a 3-1 victory over Berks on September 24 at Keuka College. In that contest, Alexis Horst and Megan Lackman led Berks with eight kills apiece. The defense collected 117 digs, led by Madison Wojciechowski with 24 and Laken Bankert with 20. Jackie Allen paced the Express offensive attack with a game-high 15 kills, followed by Olyvia Brazier with 11 and Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo with nine. Eliza Schwab recorded 22 digs and Leite-Ah Yo had 19.

The winner of Berks/Wells will take on top seed and tournament host SUNY Polytechnic on Saturday, November 5 afternoon at 12 p.m.

The other quarterfinal matches will be Penn State Abington (No. 7) vs. Gallaudet (No. 2) at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by Lancaster Bible (No. 6) against Morrisville State College (No. 3) at 5 p.m. The winner of those two matches will face each other in the other semifinal round match, which will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The winner of the semi's on Saturday will advance to the NEAC Championship match on Sunday, November 6 at 1 p.m.
