Volleyball sweeps first day of NEAC Crossover

UTICA, N.Y. (September 26, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team extended its win streak to five straight after defeating SUNY Cobleskill, 3-0, and Morrisville State College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon on the first day of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover.

The Nittany Lions (9-6, 4-1 NEAC) opened up the day with game scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-15 in their win over SUNY Cobleskill. In the nightcap, Berks dropped its opening game 21-25, before rattling off wins of 25-23, 25-14, 25-23 against the Mustangs.

Addie Parsons recorded 10 kills and 12 digs against SUNY Cobleskill, while Jenny Von Holt and Heleanna Davison each chipped seven kills. Davison also added a team-high four solo blocks and two block assists. Megan DeAbreu had a contest-high 17 digs, while Corinne Watson handed out 27 assists and five service aces.

Against Morrisville State, Parsons finished one short of her career-high in kills with 17. She also recorded 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. Cassidy Schultz added 10 kills and 13 digs. DeAbreu again had the contest-high with 23 digs and Watson recorded 39 assists.

The Nittany Lions will finish off the NEAC Crossover on Sunday when they face host SUNY Polytechnic at 11 a.m.
