Nittany Lions topple Ursinus, 3-1

Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, PA (September 23, 2015) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team ran its win streak up to three straight after defeating Ursinus College on the road in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at Helfferich Hall.

The Nittany Lions (7-6) grabbed a quick lead by taking the first two games by scores of 25-16 and 25-17. The Bears (5-8) then took the third game 25-20, but Berks jumped out to an early 12-4 lead and finished off the clincher by a 25-14 margin.

Addie Parsons collected a team-high 12 kills and added 12 digs to notch her second double-double of the season. Jenny Von Holt recorded eight kills and three block assists, while Cassidy Schultz chipped in six kills, 13 digs, and a career-high five assists. Heleanna Davison had seven kills, four block assists, and three service aces. Corinne Watson handed out 32 assists and 10 digs, while Megan DeAbreu had a contest-high 23 digs.

Berks finished the contest with 67 digs, nine service aces, and 12 block assists.

The Nittany Lions will compete in their second grouping of NEAC play when they travel to SUNY Polytechnic this weekend. They open up play on Saturday, September 26 with SUNY Cobleskill (2 p.m.) and follow with Morrisville State College (4:30 p.m.).
