Softball splits NEAC opener with Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, PA (April 1, 2015) - After a 22 day layoff due to poor weather conditions, the Penn State Berks softball team final got back into action with a split against Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

The Chargers snagged the opener by a score of 3-1, but the Nittany Lions retaliated with a 10-2 win in five innings in the nightcap.

Ashley Malek combined to go 5-for-6 with two runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a home run. In the second game, Jenna Heffner went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored. Chelsea Bright and Missy Lamm each chipped in two hits in the second game.

The Nittany Lions will host the College of Saint Elizabeth in a NEAC contest on Friday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
