Women's basketball falls to Abington

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team dropped a 70-53 decision to Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division contest on Saturday afternoon at Beaver Community Center.

Berks had three players score in double figures, led by senior guard Cassidy Schultz with 13 points to go with her six rebounds and three assists. Julie Pietrobono matched her season-high with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor. The freshman forward also pulled down seven boards, four of which were on the offensive end of the court. Deanna Daddona recorded 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Angie Russell grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and handed out three assists.

Abington was led on offense by Janaiah Elum with 24 points on 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point land. Madison Kimball added 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Shayna Rodriguez had 11 points and 12 boards.

The Nittany Lions will play their final game before winter break in a non-conference contest at Penn State Brandywine on Thursday, December 10 at 7 p.m.
