NCAA REGIONAL: Women's soccer will open up with William Smith College

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team will face off with tournament host William Smith College in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship beginning on Saturday, November 14 at 11 a.m.

The Nittany Lions (16-2-2) received an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after defeating Penn State Abington, 3-0, in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. This is the third straight appearance for the Nittany Lions in the NCAA Tournament. Berks suffered a 2-0 loss to The College of New Jersey in 2013 and were fell 3-0 to Carnegie Mellon University last season.

William Smith (16-1-1), which is the No. 1 ranked team in the East Region and No. 3 in the country, earned the automatic qualifier after winning its ninth straight Liberty League title. The Herons enter the tournament having won 15 straight contests and have had not allowed a goal in the last 1316:12 until conceding a goal in the first half of their championship game.

The other teams in the four-team field are Misericordia College (15-3-2) and Roger Williams University (19-0-3), who will also play on Saturday afternoon. Misericordia earned an at-large bid after falling to Wilkes University, 5-3, in penalty kicks (T, 0-0) in the opening round of the MAC Freedom Tournament. Roger Williams beat Gordon College, 3-0, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship to record an automatic bid.
