Men's tennis wins season opener over Cabrini

RADNOR, PA (October 6, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team opened up its 2015-16 campaign with an 8-1 win on the road over Cabrini College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions picked up a 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles by the duo of Shesh Patel and Grant Batzer and won by forfeit at third doubles.

In singles action, Will Byler won in the No. 1 spot by scores of 6-1, 6-2. Ryan Fritz pulled out tight win at second singles, winning 6-4 and 7-6 over Alijah Broadnax. Angel Negron (6-1, 6-1) and Owen Jones (6-2, 6-3) won at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Berks won by forfeit at the fifth and six singles spots.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a trip to Alvernia University on Saturday, October 10 at 3 p.m.
