Men's tennis fall in semi's to Abington

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA (April 26, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback to Penn State Abington in the semifinal round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship on Saturday afternoon at Birchwood Tennis Club.

Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz picked up an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, but Abington was able to win a second and third to take a lead into singles action.

Weinhold continued his dominance at No. 1 singles by grabbing a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

Abington would go on to defeat Rutgers-Camden in the title round by a score of 5-2.

The Nittany Lions will conclude the season with the NEAC Individual Championship on Sunday, April 27 at Birchwood Tennis Club.
