Men's basketball rally comes up short against LBC

LANCASTER, PA (December 3, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team had a furious rally late in the second half that saw them trailing by just five points with 1:22 left in the game, but Lancaster Bible College held on for an 83-74 victory in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday evening at Horst Athletic Complex.

The Nittany Lions trailed 52-33 at halftime and were down by as much as 24 points with 16:58 remaining in the second half. Berks outscored the Chargers 38-23 the rest of the way and held a 41-31 edge overall for the second half. In the second half run, LBC shot 70.6% from the floor, compared to 42.9% by the Nittany Lions. The reason for the comeback effort was the Nittany Lions defense that forced 13 turnovers, while committing just four over the final 20 minutes.

Baba Waples continues his strong play off the bench with 14 points, four assists, and four rebounds. Nygel Belizaire set a career-high with 13 points and also added a team-high eight rebounds.
