Men's soccer edged by Wells in season finale

AURORA, N.Y. (October 25, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's team dropped a 2-0 decision on the road to Wells College in the season ending North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions, as has been the case all season, got into a early hole and were not able to recover. The Express scored 3:47 into the opening half and then again at 15:38, but Berks would keep them scoreless over the next 74-plus minutes.

Kyle Baker finished the contest with nine saves to give him 116 for the season, which is the second most all-time in program history.

The Nittany Lions finish the season with a 4-13-1 overall record and 2-6-1 in the conference. Those totals, however, do not accurately display the improvements that were made by the Nittany Lions over the course of the season. Prior to this weekend, they had won three of their last four contests, including the first ever win over SUNYIT in a 3-2 double overtime thriller that caused them to miss the postseason.

Freshman T.J. Yurkovic recorded the second-most goals in program history with 11, while junior Anthony Kidron had tied for the fifth most with six saves. The future looks promising with that duo returning and roster full the three juniors and a bunch of underclassmen.
