Berks drops non-conference tilt to King's College

WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 4, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback to King's College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (1-1) were on the offensive end for the majority of the contest, out shooting King's 14-2 and holding a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks. Unfortunately for Berks, the Monarch's (2-0) were able to find the back of the net with their only shot on goal. Kylie Borick broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 52nd minute to give King's the 1-0 win over the Nittany Lions for the second straight season.

Freshman Simone Stewart, who was recently named the NEAC Offensive Player of the Week, recorded four shots on goal. Caitlin Deibler also had two shots on goal, but keeper Jessica Natale was on top of her game with 10 saves to secure the shutout.

The Nittany Lions will enter conference play with a visit to the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, September 7 at 1 p.m.
