Men's soccer downed by Cazenovia College

READING, PA (October 5, 2013) -  The Penn State Berks men's team hung with Cazenovia College throughout the North Eastern Athletic Conference contest, but the Wildcats pulled away to earn a 7-3 decision over the Nittany Lions on Saturday afternoon. (Boxscore)

Andrew Yasenchak scored a goal with an assist coming from Isaiah Danner to knot the contest at 1-all in the 27th minute, but Cazenovia countered with two more goals to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. Danner picked up an assist when he chipped a pass over the defense that led to a blast through the right side by Connor Mastricola to cut the deficit to 3-2 early in the second half.

Tyler Welch sent a perfect pass off of a free kick that took one bounce and was headed by Danner over the keeper's head to make it a 5-3 game with 16 minutes remaining. Michael Peguero nearly notched a goal for the Nittany Lions, but his shot from 20-yards out slammed off of the crossbar.

Darrell Geisinger registered a career-high 12 saves in net to raise his season total to 71, which leads the conference.

The Nittany Lions will host Morrisville State College in a NEAC contest on Sunday, October 6 at 12 p.m.
