Nittany Lions fall on the road to St. Elizabeth



MORRISTOWN, N.J. (January 9, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered an 82-74 setback to the College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division matchup on Wednesday evening. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Liions (2-9, 1-4 NEAC) led 35-32 at halftime and maintained that lead with 10:23 remaining in the contest. The Screaming Eagles (6-5, 4-1 NEAC) led by two points with 2:24 left in the game and were able to cushion that lead down the stretch.

Shanelle Koch finished with a team-high 23 points on 10-of-23 shooting from the floor. The freshman guard also pulled down eight rebounds. Nichole Young-Trapp notched her third double-double of the season after recording 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Keisha Robinson and Sherrie Satchel each chipped in 10 points. Robinson handed out a career-high nine assists and also picked up six steals. Satchel recorded four blocked shots to raise her season total to 30, which is three away from the season record set by KAELIN REED and Jamie Norris.

Ashley Pledger led the Screaming Eagles with 27 points, followed by Cheyenne Grant with 16 and Amerisse Rogers with 14. Chantele Clark added eight points, 11 rebounds, five steals, four assists, and four blocked shots.

The Nittany Lions will travel to SUNY Cobleskill for a NEAC crossover match on Sunday, January 13 at 12 p.m.
