Nittany Lions keep up their winning ways

READING, PA (September 23, 2012) - Five different players scored goals in the Penn State Berks women's soccer teams 5-0 win over SUNYIT in Sunday afternoon's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest. (Boxcore)

The Nittany Lions earned their six consecutive victory to improve to 6-2 overall and sit atop the NEAC standings with a 6-0 record. During the win streak, Berks has outscored its opponents by a 33-2 margin. The Nittany Lions notched their third straight shutout and have not allowed a goal in the last 319:55, dating back to a 2-1 win over Lancaster Bible College on September 15.

Savannah Cramer, who was not tested with any shot in yesterday's win, recorded two saves before giving way to Sarah Elmontacir for the final 10 minutes of the match. Cramer's conference leading goals against average lowered to 0.83 in the win.

Meaghan Daly beat the keeper one-on-one to start off the scoring at the 8:03 mark. Karly Shaffert provided the assist, her second of the season. Katie Warner recorded an assist off of corner kicks on goals by Melissa Bennett and Ellie McKinstry. Steph Tankalavage netted her second goal of the season after Sara Conover sent a perfect pass in front of the keeper. Ashley Pardoski launched a perfect throw-in from the sideline that Chelsea Ray sent in through the left side for the final goal.

The Nittany Lions will face Alvernia Univeristy in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, September 25 at 7 p.m.
