Softball drop a pair in home opener to Albright



READING, PA (March 26, 2012) - The Penn State Berks softball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests, 11-3 and 12-6, to Albright College at an extremely windy Hintz Athletic Field on Monday afternoon.

Stefany Dusman combined to go 3-for-6 with four runs batted in, one run scored and a stolen base. Kelsey Halloran also picked up three hits on the day. She also scored a run and recorded two stolen bases.

In the second game, Devon Denker had a career-high three hits. The Nittany Lions had three players finish 2-for-4 and outhit the Lions 13-11.

Denker threw 6.0 innings in the opener and recorded a season-high five strikeouts. Larissa Tenley made her 2012 debut in the second game, pitching 3.0 innings and striking out one batter. Britany Nelson pitched 4.0 innings, allowing only four hits and two unearned runs.

The Nittany Lions will begin North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play when they travel to Penn State Harrisburg for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 28 at 3 p.m.
