COLLEGEVILLE, PA (April 26, 2011) - The Penn State Berks baseball team dropped a non-conference road contest with Ursinus College on Tuesday afternoon in the regular season finale. Ursinus plated 10 runs in its final three at-bats to help earn the 17-10 victory.
Senior Anthony Furillo, who was honored at the home game on Monday, had a solo home run to lead off the eighth inning. It was his eighth career homer which ties Seth Shultz for the most in program history.
Nick Vitelli, Kevin Heilman and Zach Guiles each collected two hits and drove in two runs for the Nittany Lions (15-19). Michael Werner and Tyler Page both had two hits, while Aaron Wilkins had added an RBI.
Jade Hendrick allowed one earned run in two innings of work, while Colby Hendrix threw a scoreless inning of relief.
The Nittany Lions will travel to New York this weekend for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships. They will play No. 1 seed SUNYIT in the opening round.
