SUNYIT BOXSCORE | MORRISVILLE STATE BOXSCORE

MORRISTOWN, NJ (October 16, 2011) – The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team finished a perfect 10-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) after picking up wins over SUNYIT and Morrisville State on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions, 18-5 overall, earned the top spot in the NEAC standings with their perfect record and will now host the conference championship on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5.

Berks began the day with a 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23) win over SUNYIT to assure the Nittany Lions first place in the conference. The blue-and-white then completed its sweep over the NEAC with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-19) win over Morrisville State.

In the win opening win over the Wildcats (18-12, 8-2 NEAC), Berks had three players finish with double-digits in kills by Shelton (19), Kayla Mosser (14) and Rachel Sweeney (11). Sweeney set a season-high with her 11 kills, while Mosser matched her personal-best which she last recorded in a win over Keuka College.

The Nittany Lions defense rose to the occasion against one of the top conference opponents. Victoria Young recorded a season-high, when she registered 30 of the teams 76 digs. Her previous best was 29 in a non-conference loss to Moravian College. Courtney Lucarelli added 14 digs.
