Volleyball rebounds with sweep on Sunday

ABINGTON,PA (September 26, 2010) - The Penn State Berks women's volleyball team swept both of its North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests on Sunday afternoon.

They opened the day with a 3-0 win over the College of St. Elizabeth (25-12, 25-10, 25-8) and defeated Penn State Harrisburg 3-0 in the nightcap. The wins give Berks a 3-1 recrord in the NEAC after the first round of conference play.

AMY SHELTON had a match-high 12 kills and did not commit any errors. She also added four service aces. SUZI SHELTON recorded seven kills and two solo blocks. CHRISTINA PETTET had five kills, while CHRISTINE KANTONIDES chipped in with four aces and three kills.

The Lions collectively pounded out 28 kills and had only five errors. Berks also dominated at the service line with 15 aces against St. Elizabeth.
