ALLENTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team fell in its 2010 fall season opener 8-1 on the road against Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Meghan Hartley was the bright spot for the Nittany Lions with a win in three sets at the sixth singles flight. Hartley took the first set 6-4, before falling 4-6 against Cassie Bejar in the second. In the third set tiebreaker, Hartley took care of business with a 10-2 victory.
Samantha Warga dropped a three set thriller to Mackenzie Lee. Warga won the opener 6-4, but fell 5-7 and 10-12 in the fourth singles slot.
The women will return to action on Monday, September 20th in a non-conference match on the road with Albright at 3:30 p.m.
