READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks faced Albright College in a doubleheader at Albright Softball Field, suffering two losses with final scores of 5–3 and 4–1.
In the first game, Penn State Berks took an early lead in the first inning when
Emma Infantino scored on an error by Albright's second baseman, with
Maura Gorman reaching first base on the play. The inning ended with the Blue & White leading 1–0. Albright responded in the fourth inning by scoring three runs, capitalizing on a series of singles, which allowed them to take a 5–2 lead. The Nittany Lions cut into the lead in the fifth inning when
Natasha Hornung scored after a single by
Mallory Johnson, but ultimately, neither team scored in the last two innings, concluding the game at 5–3 in favor of Albright.

Mallory Johnson pitched a complete game, allowing five earned runs over 6 innings while also contributing offensively with two hits and one RBI.
Anna Laughlin added to the scoring with one hit and one RBI, drawing a walk to reach base twice.
Ashlynn McCardle recorded a triple, marking her only hit of the game. Johnson's performance on the mound included 112 pitches, with 67 strikes, and she was credited with the loss, bringing her season record to 1-8.
In the second game, Berks again faced Albright with a strong start but was unable to capitalize on early opportunities.

Natasha Hornung was hit by a pitch in the first inning, but the team left runners stranded. Albright took the lead, scoring one run on a single by Grace Landante. In the third inning, the Nittany Lions capitalized on an error, allowing
Ashlynn McCardle to score an unearned run and tie the game at 1–1. However, Albright regained control in the fourth inning, scoring three unearned runs to lead 4–1, which would be the final score.
Anna Laughlin was a standout in the second game as well, contributing one hit and one RBI.
Natasha Hornung reached base twice, recording a hit and getting hit by a pitch while executing a sacrifice hit.
Maura Gorman pitched a complete game, striking out five batters over 6 innings, allowing 11 hits and 4 runs, with only 1 earned run. Despite her efforts, Gorman recorded the loss, bringing her season record to 1–2.
