Reading, PA – The Penn State Berks Men's Tennis Team advanced in the United East Championship Tournament, defeating Penn College by a score of 4-1 on Sunday, April 27.
The Lions got off to a great start earning a team point by winning two doubles matches.
Muhammad Esmat and
Jazae Maina-Itegi earned a victory in the #1 doubles match by a score of 6-3. The team of
Joseph Martin and
Rajas Joshi then powered to a 6-3 win in the #3 doubles match.
Esmat continued rolling, picking up a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the #1 singles match, picking up a key team point. In the #3 singles match, Maina-Itegi earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Joseph Martin earned the decisive team point, winning the #5 singles match by a score of 6-0, 6-4.
