Women's tennis falls to Abington

ABINGTON, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis teams suffered a 7-2 setback on the road to Penn State Abington in United East action on Tuesday afternoon.

The No. 2 doubles team of Alyssa Love and Bailey Rocker were narrowly edged by a score of 8-6, while Bel Clayton and Sallay Thollie dropped an 8-3 decision at the top spot. The No. 3 team of Sam Hagenbush and Katie Davis fell by a score of 8-1.

Rocker pulled a thrilling 8-7 win at No. 4 singles after a 7-2 triumph in the pro-set tiebreaker. Love suffered a 6-2 setback in the first set, but she rebounded with a 6-0 win in the second set and edged her opponent, 10-7, in the tiebreaker. Hagenbush battled at fifth singles, but was topped by a 6-4, 6-4 margin, while Thollie (No. 2) fell 6-4, 6-3.

Berks will travel to Penn State Harrisburg for an United Eat tilt on Thursday, April 13 at 3 p.m.
