Men's tennis falls to Muhlenberg in fall finale

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team dropped the final match of the fall, 8-1, on the road to Muhlenberg on Monday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions move to 0-3 on the season, while the Mules improve to 4-0 overall.

Donovan Sullivan and Weston Weaver earned the lone point for the Nittany Lions. The duo earned a hard-fought 7-5 win in the tiebreak for an 8-7 victory at second doubles. Muhammad Esmat and Jazae Maina-Itegi were edged 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, while Rajas Joshi and Alan Ngo fell by an 8-2 score.

Esmat (No. 1) lost a three-set heartbreaker, falling by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 4-10. Sullivan (No. 4) was narrowly edged by a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) margin, while Weaver (No. 4) was topped 6-3, 6-4.

The Nittany Lions will compete in nine matches in the spring semester, starting with a home match against McDaniel College on Saturday, March 23.
