CLARKS SUMMIT, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team defeated Bryn Athyn College, 5-0, in the semifinal round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament on Wednesday evening at the Birchwood Tennis Club. Berks will head to the NEAC Championship round for the ninth straight season and fourth consecutive in which they will play Penn State Abington for the title.

In the race to five points, the Nittany Lions (8-5) got out in front with a comfortable lead after claiming all three of the doubles matches. The No. 1 tandem of Caroline Bashore and Laura Youwakim picked up an 8-3 win over Morgan Phillips and Maria Daum. The duo of Alyssa Miller and Violet Tran (No. 2 doubles) and Lucrezia Pulcini and Deismy Jimenez (No. 3 doubles) were 8-0 winners in their matches.

In singles play, Pulcini continued her perfect day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 to put the team one point away from clinching the victory. Tran got the fifth point with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at the fourth singles spot.

Abington pulled out a 5-3 victory in a hard fought battle with Lancaster Bible College in the other semifinal round.
