Men's tennis topples St. Elizabeth

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over the College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at the Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The Nittany Lions won their fourth consecutive contest to improve to 7-6 overall and 4-0 in the NEAC, while the Eagles drop to 0-6 on the year and 0-4 in conference play.

All three of the Nittany Lions doubles pair won by a score of 8-1. The No. 1 duo of Will Byler and Diego Olazagasti improved to 2-0 on the season in the top doubles spot, while Jeremy Heist and Sneh Patel teamed up for their second victory together, first time at the No. 2 flight. Grant Batzer and Shane Leaf won for the second time while playing alongside each other at third doubles.

In singles action, Federico Ochoa (No. 3) and Batzer (No. 5) both won their matches by a 6-0, 6-0 margin. Curtis Uhle (No. 2) and Heist (No. 5) were both 6-0, 6-0 winners, while Byler picked up a point in No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 6-0 count. Jacob Metzger rounded out the lineup with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up their regular season with a trip to Penn College on Friday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
