Men's tennis falls to Colby-Sawyer in NEAC/NAC Crossover Championship

LATHAM, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team saw its magical 2016-17 season come to an end with a 9-0 setback to Colby-Sawyer College in the NEAC/NAC Crossover Championship on Sunday afternoon at the Tri-City Tennis Club.

The Nittany Lions, who won the West Division title last Saturday for the first time in program history, end the season with an overall record of 10-6.

The duo of Will Byler and Ryan Fritz dropped the No. 1 doubles game by an 8-3 margin, as did the No. 3 team of Diego Olazagasti and Nick Volk. Omar Rahmy and Mostafa Rahmy fell by a score of 8-1 at second doubles.

In singles action, Olazagasti fell by score of 6-3, 6-2 in the third spot, while O. Rahmy (No. 4) dropped his match by a 6-2, 6-3 margin.

Fritz, the lone senior on the squad, finishes off his brilliant four-year career with 35 singles victories and 35 doubles wins. He ranks second all-time in program history in singles, doubles, and combined wins.
