Men's tennis earns conference win over Lancaster Bible

LITITZ, PA (April 9, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team downed Lancaster Bible College by a score of 6-3 in a North Athletic Conference (NAC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at Linden Hall School Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions jumped out to an early lead after swiping two of the three doubles bouts. Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz continued their stellar play in the top spot, earning an 8-4 victory over Alex Derus and Alex Ko. This marked the fourth straight win for the duo and fifth in six matches. Jerrad Seifrit and Justin Bass grabbed an 8-2 victory in the third doubles flight.

In singles action, Weinhold was a 6-1, 6-1 winner out of the No. 1 spot. Fritz won by set scores of 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, while Bass picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at five. Shesh Patel rounded out the Nittany Lions winners, taking down his No. 6 singles opponent 6-2, 6-1.

The Nittany Lions will return to action with a NAC contest at Keuka College on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m.
