Softball opens up season with trip to Myrtle Beach



MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 6, 2012) – The Penn State Berks softball team opened up its 2012 season with six games at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Due to a rainout on the opening day, the Nittany Lions (0-6) were forced to play tripleheaders on Monday and Tuesday.

They fell to Penn State Altoona by scores of 19-2 and 4-0, and lost 3-1 to Wesley College in the final contest on Monday. The Nittany Lions fell to Juniata College (11-3), Penn State New Kensington (5-3) and Wentworth Institute of Technology (10-2) on Tuesday.
